The 7th Night of the 7th Moon with Mary Stewart Adams aboard Lady Michigan at Thunder Bay

August 8, 2019 @ 8:40 pm - 11:40 pm

Meet Star Lore Historian Mary Stewart Adams over in Alpena on the Lake Huron side of the Great Lakes State for “The 7th Night of the 7th Moon” Cruise! In Chinese tradition, this night is regarded as the most romantic of the year because it happens when the Crescent Moon has swept across the western horizon and is just slipping into the thickest part of the Milky Way, signaling the moment when “every lover can chance upon his true love.” On the evening of our cruise August 8, the Moon will form a triangle with the planet Jupiter and the star Antares, passionate heart of the Scorpion.

Star Lore Historian Mary Stewart Adams will share several of the wonderful cultural tales associated with traditions of the 7th Night of the Moon, while providing guidance to constellation identification and many other engaging tales of the season’s stars that shine over Thunder Bay throughout the summer season.
