The Storyteller’s Night Sky ~ Dark Sky Advocacy through Once Upon a Time

May 17, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

This event will be live streamed. on the Magnolia Salon Facebook page, at this link

Mary Stewart Adams, a Michigan-based star lore historian and founder of one of the world’s first international dark sky parks in 2011 will take us on a journey through the night sky on the wings of the poets, artists and storytellers of ages, to compliment our contemporary understanding of the night sky through astronomy with the inspired achievements expressed in the humanities. Event begins at 6 pm central daylight time.

Mary’s weekly radio program “The Storyteller’s Night Sky” airs every Monday during Morning Edition on Interlochen Public Radio, and she makes her home under the starry skies of Harbor Springs, Michigan.

Mary’s presentation at the Magnolia Salon is sponsored by Starry Skies Lake Superior, the local chapter of the International Dark-Sky Association, which aims to end light pollution in our region and to build Lake Superior’s reputation for spectacular night skies.  Starry Skies Lake Superior will kick-off ‘Celebrate the Night Sky Week’ at Oldenburg House on September 16, 2018.
