Welcome to The Star Tales of Mother Goose, where we seek to awaken the connection between the human being and the stars that slumbers within each of us as a natural intimacy. We make our beginning with whimsy and rhyme and once upon a time, not because this is a children’s book, but to sustain the childlike wonder about the majesty of this relationship.
The book opens with 10 traditional Mother Goose rhymes (purchase at this link), colorfully illustrated and followed by an interlude, about the history and origins of the name ‘Mother Goose.’ The second part of the book imagines each rhyme with the stars they point to, and includes an historical account of each rhyme, star maps for finding the Mother Goose characters in the night sky, and easy-to-follow directions. Complete maps of the sky adorn the front and back end pages, making this book a wonderful, star-filled companion. You’ll note that the rhymes are arranged by season, to support the living nature of the relationship, which grows, and unfolds, and changes through time.

About the Author
Mary Stewart Adams has devoted her life work to raising awareness about the necessity of natural darkness as an essential and rhythmic experience of life, and the deeply challenging effects of light pollution on what should be fundamental to all lived experience. Her work is best described as performance education and is rooted in the cultural arts as a joyful celebration of all the ways we are connected ~ to one another, to the environment, and to starry worlds.
Mary led the team that established one of the first International Dark Sky Parks in the world (2011) which she further led to award-winning recognition in the state of Michigan and the international dark skies movement. Along the way, and for the last 13 years, Mary has hosted the weekly podcast The Storyteller’s Night Sky, and, together with her sister and longtime collaborator, artist and illustrator Patricia Delisa, she published the Fairy Tale Moons calendar, also designed to restore the wonder of story in relation to the stars as a cultural art.
About the Illustrator
Patricia Delisa is an artist, illustrator, and designer whose work includes the innovative and international best-selling Cozy Cocoon, contemplative card sets, the Fairy Tale Moons calendars, and the books Little Red Riding Hood and The Star Tales of Mother Goose.
